Cocaine distribution racket
Synopsis: Investigators are probing the source of the cocaine, the supply chain, financial transactions and the network of customers to determine whether the racket has interstate or international links. The seizure is part of Bengaluru Police’s ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking.
A major cocaine distribution racket operating barely 100 metres from the Chamarajpet police station has been busted by Bengaluru Police, on Monday, 3 August, with one alleged drug peddler arrested and 116.3 grams of cocaine worth around ₹50 lakh seized.
The accused, identified as a 30-year-old man, allegedly ran the operation from a rented house and used bike-based logistics delivery services to supply cocaine across the city, concealing the narcotics inside chocolate boxes to evade detection.
Police said the accused had been under surveillance before the raid. A second suspect is on the run, and efforts are underway to trace him.
