Heavy rainfall in the Western Ghats and neighbouring Maharashtra has pushed the Doodhganga River above the danger mark in Karnataka’s Belagavi district, triggering flood fears in Chikkodi and Nippani taluks.
The river, which had nearly dried up just two days ago, has swelled rapidly due to heavy upstream inflows, threatening agricultural land along its banks.
