Auto Fares Revised in Bengaluru, Effective from August 1
After nearly four years, Bengaluru’s auto rickshaw fares have been revised. The new base fare is ₹36 for the first 2 km (up from ₹30) and ₹18 for each subsequent km (up from ₹15).
The revised fares take effect from August 1, 2025, as per a July 14 notification. Night fares (10pm–5am) will be 1.5 times the base rate. Autos have until October 31 to recalibrate meters. Waiting charges start after 5 minutes, and luggage over 20kg will be charged. While some unions welcomed the hike, others criticized it, demanding a higher base fare.
