Synopsis: A suspected smuggler arriving from Dubai at Kempegowda International Airport abandoned a bag containing 3.5 kg of gold on another passenger’s trolley to evade customs. The bag fell off near the checking area, and the shocked passenger alerted security. Customs officials seized the gold, valued in crores, and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspect.

In a dramatic turn of events at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), a passenger who arrived on a flight from Dubai, abandoned a bag of gold in a bid to evade customs officials.

The suspected smuggler discreetly placed the bag onto another passenger’s trolley before slipping away.

While approaching the customs checking area, the bag with gold fell off the trolley. The traveller noticed the bag and, shocked to find gold inside, immediately informed airport security.

During their investigation, authorities found gold worth crores of rupees—3.5 kg in total.

Customs officials are now reviewing CCTV footage and questioning the passenger to determine who placed the gold bag and which passenger is responsible.

Initial suspicion is on a person who arrived from Dubai and escaped after leaving the gold. Customs officials have seized the 3.5 kg of gold for further investigation.
