Telangana Food Safety officials find expired products, improper labelling at Karachi Bakery, Creamstone outlets

Food safety violations

The Commissioner of Food Safety for Telangana has recently found several instances of violations, including expired products and improper labelling, at popular eateries and food stores in Hyderabad city.

At the Karachi Bakery store in the Moazzam Jahi Market area, officials found expired stocks of rusks, biscuits, candy, chocolate cakes, toasts, and buns, totalling ₹5,200. These products were promptly discarded.

Additionally, pastries and cakes were found without displaying use-by dates, which is a violation of FSSAI regulations.

Furthermore, multiple unlabeled products were discovered, also violating the FSSAI Act.

In the Himayatnagar area of the city at Creamstone Outlet, Food Safety officials found the expired stock of strawberry paste, which was promptly discarded.

Additionally, certain pineapple titbit cans were found stored without maintaining a cold chain, and cakes/pastries were found without use-by dates.

The officials stated that notices will be issued, and “adjudication cases will be filed to address these violations.”

Restaurant inspections

The Food Safety Task Force conducted inspections in the Himayatnagar area and discovered several violations at Clove Vegetarian Fine Dine. Expired products such as cheese, syrup, ATC spices, sandwich bread, and brown sugar were found and subsequently discarded.

Additionally, live cockroaches were found in the ice cream storage unit. Carrots were found to be infested with fungus and deemed unfit for human consumption.

Cooked vegetable biryani was discovered in the fridge, and unhygienic conditions, including drainage stagnation, were observed. Furthermore, unlabeled chana dal was found, and samples were taken by the officials.

Notices will be issued, and adjudication cases will be filed to address these violations.

Similarly, at Bilal Ice Cream in Moazzam Jahi Market, the food officials found that the outlet and its manufacturing unit were operating without valid licenses or registrations.

Additionally, fake brand water bottles were found. Notices have been issued, and appropriate actions will be taken.
