Music, art, and sustainability resonated loud and clear at the Echoes of Earth 2023 music festival. Held on 2 and 3 December 2023, the sixth edition of the festival saw a turnout of 23,000 enthusiasts. People from various corners of the country came together to celebrate the harmony of music and sustainability. One of the highlights was the festival’s co-conscious initiatives. The art installations and stages were crafted entirely from recycled materials sourced from junkyards. Festival-goers reported that they were captivated by the creativity and resourcefulness displayed, proving that art can thrive even in the most unexpected places. It included performances by popular artistes such as Len Faki from Germany, three-time Grammy Award winner Tinariwen from Mali, Jitvam (US/India), Mezerg (France), Parra for Cuva (Germany), Mansur Brown (UK), 8 Kays (Ukraine), Sid Sriram (US), and Giant Swan (UK), among others. The diverse line-up showcased a fusion of global talent, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for all music lovers. Additionally, the festival also showcased photographs and art works on the interconnectedness of India's biodiversity hotspot, the Western Ghats. He had the longest tusks in Asia and passed away in 2022. Other installations include Chameleon Zelanicus (by Alt Native Artist Collective) and Southern Birdwing Butterfly (by Bheemstyx). The festival has won 25 awards over the years for excellence in categories like sustainability, design, and production management. Besides the jaw-dropping stage designs, the festival also highlighted how it is moving towards becoming a zero-waste event. Held in the forests and grassy grounds of the Embassy International Riding School, the festival has hosted over 300 artistes over the past years. Echoes of Earth, this year, had a chapter in Goa on 2 & 3 February 2024, offering another edition of music, art, sustainable initiatives, and responsible celebration.
