If you call Chennai home or have a penchant for Carnatic melodies and classic sabha cuisine, the Margazhi music season is likely on your radar. Grand Chennai by GRT Hotels hasn’t just paid attention, but in fact they’ve orchestrated the Grand Gana Sabha. The festival is a blend of fine music and the timeless sabha canteen experience, with a contemporary twist.
South First’s dinner experience was truly delightful, accompanied by the mesmerising melodies of singer Janani Hamsini.
Bala, the manager at J Hind, shared, “We found inspiration from different sabhas, incorporating our own creative touch. Additionally, we’ve introduced various molecular gastronomy techniques into the dishes.”
Vegetarians are in for a treat with a selection of dishes, including Kothimbir vade, Puliyogare thimbale with peri peri potatoes, Uthukuli butter curry with mini Malabar parotta, and more kalli ellu thouvayal.
Meanwhile, meat enthusiasts have their own tempting options, such as chilly lollipops with curry leaf tempura, doughnut idly with cheemeen curry, and other mouthwatering choices.
