India’s only festival dedicated to all forms of literature on environment, the Greenlit Fest (GLF) was held on Saturday. The third edition of the fest brought together eco-enthusiasts, nature lovers and readers of all ages and tastes. This time around, the Greenlit Fest featured more than 20 authors. There were more than a dozen stalls on sustainable products, workshops by WWF India, The Habitats Trust and leading storytellers and writers. The fest opened with an address by renowned author and environmental historian Ullas Karanth. The highlight of the day was the GLF Honour Book Awards. Exclusively celebrating environment writing, the awards are in the categories: business, general fiction and non-fiction, and children. There was a session on 'Mega Mammal Myopia' by author Sejal Mehta, historian Mahesh Rangarajan, scientist Rohan Arthur and ecologist Kartik Shanker. The following session, 'Grassroots to Green Shoots: The Changing Face of Green Entrepreneurship' was by Prof Anil Gupta, Social Sector Activist and Nagaraja Prakasam, author and mentor at IIMB NSRCEL. A screening and discussion of 'Other People, Other Places: Exploring Otherisation in Cinematic Storytelling' was held by filmmaker Devashish Makhija.
