Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s latest book on Sudha and Narayana Murthy gets a Bengaluru launch

An Uncommon Love talks about the journey of the couple from the day they were introduced to each other to moments in the lives that made them who they are.

Book lovers at Sapna Book House on Saturday evening were in for an unusual treat. The book store and Juggernaut Books launched Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s newest, An Uncommon Love: The Early Life of Sudha and Narayana Murthy on 10 February, 2024. The event also commemorated the 46th wedding anniversary of the iconic couple.

Apart from the couple, their children Akshata Murthy and Rohan Murthy were also present at the event to celebrate four decades of love and companionship of their parents. The event, which took place at St Joseph’s College of Commerce (Autonomous) auditorium, saw some heart-warming conversations unfold between Narayana Murthy, Sudha Murty, and Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

An iconic love story

An Uncommon Love delves into the love saga of Narayana and Sudha Murthy in a manner that not only touches the heart but also tickles your funny bone, the official press release said.

Guided by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, the creative force behind bestsellers like The Palace of Illusions, the collaboration with the Murthys weaves a narrative of authenticity.

In the book, Divakaruni intricately handpicks significant incidents and conversations from the couple’s lives, expertly moulding the narrative to encapsulate their growth. Through carefully chosen events, An Uncommon Love promises to transport readers to a distinct time and place, offering a compelling journey into the essence of the characters’ evolution and their loved ones as well.
