The Vandalur Zoo, also known as the Arignar Anna Zoological Park (AAZP) in Chennai, recently received a pair of Himalayan black bears from Jammu and Kashmir. The bears were transported by a special coach attached to the Andaman Express.

In return, Vandalur Zoo will reciprocate by gifting a pair of Royal Bengal Tigers to Jambu Zoo.

The Royal Bengal Tigers are scheduled to be transported back on November 15.

Zoo director Srinivas R Reddy stated, “This marks the first time Jambu Zoo is receiving tigers. Their animal keepers will undergo hands-on training in the maintenance of tigers from the AAZP staff for one week.”
