As the world gears up to step into the new year, Nampally exhibition grounds in Hyderabad too is readying itself. CM Revanth Reddy along with D Sridhar Babu, IT Minister, and members of the exhibition society will inaugurate the 83rd All India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish) on 1 January at 5 pm.
The exhibition returns for the second time since Coid-19 struck the world. This year, owing to the rise in cases of JN.1 variant, visitors will be given a free mask at the entry point as a precautionary measure, said Sridhar Babu, IT Minister of Telangana.
Days ahead of the exhibition, the IT Minister inspected the preparations before the opening ceremony.
“Every year, the exhibitors participating in Numaish have a list of requests. This year, we have permitted a pure vegetarian restaurant. Keeping in mind the rise of Covid-19 cases, we insisted to include a stall by Yashoda Hospital stall. It will ensure people use masks and COVID-19 tests will also be available,” he said.

The exhibition ground is connected by Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) from Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally Metro Stations on Red Line (Miyapur to LB Nagar). HMR has agreed to run extra Metro trains with increased frequency for the convenience of the visitors.
Special counters have been arranged on the grounds to buy Metro train tickets. TSRTC has also agreed to run special bus services during the exhibition.
To encourage women’s participation, the Exhibition Society has relaxed application deadlines and allotment of stalls, according to their requirements.

Under the Women’s Welfare category, NGOs like Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA), Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) and Singareni Collieries are supported.
Small Industries Development Bank of India and the Telangana Industrialists Welfare Federation are promoting and supporting small and medium entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services. Local manufacturers, business houses, and entrepreneurs can be directly approached.
Based on previous years’ request for vegetarian food, the society has set up an authentic South Indian pure vegetarian food stall. In addition to this, there will also be stalls offering haleem, kebabs, frankies, pizzas, and chaat.
Other features of the exhibition this year include an open-air theatre for cultural programs, open lawn spaces for visitors to rest. CCTV cameras have been installed to ensure safety of visitors. Besides, visitors can avail the ATM facility, free pure drinking water stalls. Yashoda Hospitals has set up a health dispensary to provide medical aid and attention, COVID-19 vaccination facility. There will also be an ambulance on site 24 x 7 in case of emergencies.
The Exhibition Society and Osmania Graduates Association fund and manage 20 educational institutions spread over Telangana. About 30,000 students are offered affordable and quality education.
Also, over 2,000 teaching and non-teaching staff are employed in the 20 educational institutions funded and managed by the Exhibition Society and Osmania Graduates Association. This creates opportunities for direct and indirect employment. About 1000 enterprises (mostly small and medium categories) are allowed to market their products and earn income to sustain for the rest of the year.
According to the exhibition society, in 2022-2023, Numiash contributed about ₹ 5.84 crores to the government revenue by way of GST, Trade license fees, Property tax, Utility Charges etc.
