Rajinikanth with Mohan Babu and Manchu Vishnu

Manchu Vishnu’s upcoming movie Kannappa is currently being shot in New Zealand. Bollywood filmmaker Mukesh Kumar Singh, who is known for his work Mahabharat, is helming the project.

Pan-Indian stars like Prabhas, Shivraj Rajkumar, and Mohanlal have agreed to act in this film.

However, Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth, who is close to Mohan Babu, has politely declined the request made by the latter.

Rajinikanth and Mohan Babu have been good friends and share a great bond ever since they acted in Peddarayudu (1995), a Telugu remake of Nattamai (1994).

Nevertheless, Rajinikanth refused to act in Kannappa because of a reason. It is learnt that he does not like mythological movies.

Rajini was forcefully agreed to act in Baba (2002), and the result made a vast difference in his career. However, Rajini might promote the film in Tamil.

It is also learnt that Mukesh is trying to make the movie a visual wonder on the screen by catering to the tastes and expectations of the new-age audience.

Manchu Vishnu is producing Kannappa under Ava Entertainments and 24 Frames Factory.

Paruchuri Gopalakrishna, Burra Sai Madhav, and Thotaa Prasad developed the script.

The movie is being made with a budget of ₹100 crore.
