The positive reviews for RDX and steady collections for King of Kotha only rekindled hopes among the exhibitors across the State.
Meanwhile, the Tamil movie Jailer is still entertaining the Malayalam audience on fewer screens.
Meanwhile, September releases like Chaaver, Kasargold, Pulimada, and Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna are drawing good expectations. So is Shahrukh Khan’s Jawan.
Tinu Pappachan’s Chaaver featuring Kunchacko Boban, Antony Varghese, and Arjun Ashokan will be released on 21 September. It missed many release dates.
It was initially expected to be released on 20 June.
Chaaver is touted to be an action entertainer as the title poster features the central characters in the midst of a knife, jeep, and Theyyam (folk art).
As part of its promotion, renowned sculptor Da Vinci Suresh created a breathtaking sand replica of the first-look poster of Chaaver on the picturesque Munambam beach in Kerala’s Ernakulam district.
Chaver is Tinu’s third film after Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil (2018), and Ajagajantharam (2021). Both films were of the action genre.
The movie is produced by Arun Narayan and Venu Kunnappilly under the banners of Arun Narayan Productions and Kavya Film Company.
The script is written by actor-director Joy Mathew, and the cinematography is done by Jinro George. The film is edited by Nishad Yusuf, and the music is composed by Justin Varghese.
Asif Ali-starrer Kasargold, a high-octane thriller based on gold smuggling, is shot in Kasaragod. Its plot revolves around a group of friends and their greed for gold.
The film, releasing on 15 September, is directed by Mridul Nair.
The makers recently released a lyrical video that’s trending online. The teaser gave goosebumps to the audience.
Kasargold also features Vinayakan, Sunny Wayne, and Malavika Sreenath. It is produced by Vikram Mehra, Siddharth Anand Kumar, Suraj Kumar, and Rinny Divakar under Yoodlee Film.
Vishnu Vijay composed the music for the film. the cinematography is by Jebin Jacob and the editing is by Manoj Kannoth.
Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna is the brand new Malayalam movie directed by debutants Vijesh Panathur and Unni Vellora.
It is set in the rural areas of Kannur and is about two youngsters — Kannan (Dhyan Sreenivasan) and Vidyadharan (Aju Varghese).
Sudheesh, Nirmal Palazhi, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Navas Vallikkunnu, Aneesh, Parvana, Aami, Unni Raja, Bhanu Payyanur, Devaraj Kozhikode, Rajesh Azhikodan, Sohan Seenulal, Sarath Lal, Kiran Ramesh, and Vismaya Sasikumar are the other actors.
The music is composed by Arun Muraleedharan, and the lyrics are written by Manu Manjith and Harinarayanan. Sankar Sarma handles the background score.
Nadikalil Sundari Yamuna is all set to release in theatres on 15 September.
As part of its promotion, the makers recreated the popular old song “Velleara Poomala Mele” from the 1989 movie Varavelpu directed by Sathyan Anthikad.
Joju George will be next seen in writer-director AK Sajan’s Pulimada. It is expected to hit the theatres on 8 September.
The movie has Aishwarya Rajesh playing the female lead. AK Sajan is the editor, scriptwriter, and director.
The cinematography is by Venus ISC and the background score is by Anil Johnson.
An intriguing teaser of Pulimada was released by the makers recently which gave the impression that it would be a thriller.
