Like every month, November also heralds the release of many new films with intriguing ideas and stories. With the changes in the selection process of OTT platforms, several movies are planned for release in theatres this month. Here’s the list:

Kooman

Drishyam 1 and Drishyam 2 director Jeethu Joseph’s latest work is a crime thriller and the most anticipated among all.

Wondering why? Because Kooman is coming from Jeethu Joseph after one of his greatest suspense thrillers that won laurels from movie lovers across the country.

Also, its trailer is one of the best edited in recent times. The trailer says that you absolutely cannot, and should not, miss this movie! It hints at a lot of suspense and thrill moments.

Kooman is also getting huge acceptance among the audience. It has good potential for a box office hit.

The script is written by KR Krishnakumar and the songs are composed by Vinayak Sasikumar.

The film casts Asif Ali, Baburaj, Renji Panicker, Ramesh Thilak, Jaffer Idukki, Baiju Santhosh, George Maryan and a dozen more popular names.

It is releasing in cinema halls on 4 November. Hope they do good promotion as well!

1744 White Alto

1744 White Alto is directed by the National and Kerala state Award-winning filmmaker Senna Hegde. He is known for his work in Thinkalazhcha Nischayam.

1744 White Alto is produced by Mrinal Mukundan, Sreejith Nair, and Vinod Divakar under the banner of Kabani Films.

It stars Sharafudheen in the lead role. Rajesh Madhavan, Vincy Aloshious, Arun Kurian, Sajin Cherukayil, and Navas Vallikkunnu are playing major roles.

From the promotion materials, it’s evident that the movie is a crime comedy. In an interview, Senna Hegde described it as a film replete with “silly, quirky humour”.

“It is a crime comedy about two white Alto cars that get switched; one belongs to a person wanted by the police,” says the director.

The teaser doesn’t give away much. But it does show the zany tone of the narration. It is tentatively being released in November.

Saturday Night

Roshan Andrews made the best movie of 2013, Mumbai Police, a murder mystery cop story.

His new project, Saturday Night with Kirukkanum Koottukaarum, features Nivin Pauly, Siju Wilson, Aju Varghese, Saiju Kurup, Grace Antony, Saniya Iyappan and Malavika Sreenath in lead roles.

Written by Naveen Bhaskar, the movie is produced by Vinayaka Ajith. It is an out-and-out comedy film.

Nivin Pauly, after the good-movie-but-dud-at-box-office Padavettu, is in dire need of a theatre hit.

The highly energetic holiday-mood comedy entertainer has Siju Wilson joining Nivin Pauly for the fifth time, after the huge success of Malarvaadi Arts Club, Neram, Premam and Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela.

Judging from the trailer, Saturday Night looks impressive. It is hitting the screens on 4 November.

Mukundan Unni Associates

Mukundan Unni Associates grabbed the attention of social media with its unique promotional activities: crazy posts through a Facebook page created in the name of the movie’s lead character.

The character’s Facebook page (Advocate Mukundan Unni) and Vineeth Srinivasan’s comment battle created laughter on social media.

Then, the trailer hits the right spot. Abhinav Sunder Nayak’s Mukundan Unni Associate is a movie that we cannot ignore.

It is a comedy-drama with Vineeth Sreenivasan seemingly portraying a lawyer with sociopathic inclinations.

The feature film also has Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sudhi Koppa, Tanvi Ram, Jagadeesh and Manikandan Pattambi.

It is written by Vimal Gopalakrishnan and Abhinav Sunder Nayak. It is gearing up for release on 11 November.

Romancham

Romancham has some seriously good reasons to get excited. Even though there are few classic movies, we don’t get horror films as much as other genres in Malayalam. So is the case with horror comedy.

What if it is neatly done? Well, Romancham’s trailer and songs are promising on that note.

Jithu Madhavan is the writer-director. It is bankrolled by Johnpaul George Productions in collaboration with Guppy Cinemas.

Romancham has Soubin Shahir, Arjun Ashokan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sajin Gopu and Adithya Bhaskar playing major roles.

Sushin Shyam composed the music and the songs are already a chartbuster, especially “Aadharanjali”.

Maybe, it’d be a comedy version of Demonte Colony! But it looks good! The release date is yet to be announced.

Haya and 4 Years

Two more movies are tentatively releasing in November.

Haya, directed by Vasudev Sanal, features Guru Somasundaram, Indrans, Lal Jose, Johny Antony and Vinu Parthasarathi.

Ranjith Shankar’s 4 Years stars Priya Prakash Varrier in the lead role.
