The founder and head of Vijayanand Roadlines Limited (VRL), Vijay Sankeshwar is well-known to the people of Karnataka.

Though the road to success is full of challenges, he overcame the hurdles to attain his goals and stood out as an excellent example, especially in the business world.

He started from scratch with literally zero investment. But he went on to become one of the wealthiest men by creating powerful and influential entities.

Apart from starting his own transport business, he ventured into multiple businesses including media along with involvement in active politics.

The film Vijayanand showcases his success story on the big screen with some commercial touch to it.

How Vijay Sankeshwar succeeded in his business ventures and what hurdles he faced form the crux of this commercial biopic.

His son Anand Sankeshwar, who continues his legacy, recollects his father’s road to success, by starting from how Vijay Sankeshwar trod a different path from that of his father BG Sankeshwar (played by Anant Nag).

Lacks cinematic wow factor

Though the makers state that it’s a commercial biopic, there is hardly any element to it, apart from a fight sequence and a couple of songs.

The rest is more like a documentary feature that likely runs for a little over two-and-a-half hours. But it’s shot well with Okaya good-quality lens.

After watching this Very Regular and Limited-experience venture, one would think that reading Vijay Sankeshwar’s story through a book would have sufficed than watching his biopic on the silver screen.

Well, Vijayanand lacks the cinematic “wow” factor!

Decent job by Rishika Sharma

Being a biography, produced by the son himself with the sole intention of portraying the positives of his father’s success, director Rishika Sharma did a decent job by showcasing the tale as told to her, as it is.

About the performances, Anant Nag stands out as usual. Nihal is impressive, to some extent, for his efforts in portraying the character of Vijay Sankeshwar on the screen.

Indeed, there is enough literature and material available to explore the life of the man in the limelight, in the movie.

Insofar as seeking inspiration in life for success, there is a sea of examples to follow, too. But remember that being real and true to oneself is the best way to succeed in life!

Having said that, if you have any connection or affiliation with the VRL and its associated businesses, watch Vijayanand in a theatre near you, or wait until it hits the OTT platforms shortly!
