Director Jude Anthany Joseph’s 2018 is getting positive reviews.
The movie is regarded as the best recreation of the horrific floods of 2018 that wreaked havoc in Kerala. It also paid tribute to the volunteers, especially the fishermen, who were at the forefront of the rescue operations.
Tovino Thomas, Kunchako Boban, Asif Ali, Lal, Aparna Balamurali, Indrans, and Sudheesh played key roles in 2018. Tovino got maximum screen space in the movie.
Soon after the movie received an overwhelming response from critics and audiences, Tovino Thomas posted a picture on Instagram on Friday, 5 May, and captioned it “On cloud nine!!! #2018themovie #gratitude”.
In a video, the actor said he was happy with the success of 2018.

However, he added that he was sad about not being able to watch the film in theatres along with his crew and audiences as he was on a vacation to Finland with his family.
“I am unhappy that I am not in Kerala because 2018 is getting 100 percent positive response and I feel that it’s a loss to me to not watch movies in theatres along with the audience,” Tovino Thomas said.
The actor recollected the hardships the crew faced during the shoot and revealed that he had a feeling that 2018 would be a part of history.
Meanwhile, the dubbed version of 2018 would be released soon in theatres.
The Neelavelicham-actor also appreciated the efforts of director Jude Anthany Joseph. “You have now become more famous,” he said on a lighter note while referring to the filmmaker.

The trailer of the upcoming Malayalam movie, Nalla Nilavulla Rathri, has been released.
The movie has an ensemble cast, including Chemban Vinod Jose, Baburaj, Jinu Joseph, Binu Pappu, Roni David Raj, Ganapathi, Nithin George, and Sajin Cherukayil.
Nalla Nilavulla Rathri is written and directed by debutant Murphy Devasy. It is produced by actor-producer Sandra Thomas and her husband Wilson Thomas under their banner Sandra Thomas Productions.
The intriguing trailer shows a group of friends going on a trip to Shimoga for a business deal. Chemban Vinod plays a key role.
The film is touted to be a mysterious action thriller.
The trailer of Jackson Bazaar Youth has been unveiled. The movie is directed by debutant Shamal Sulaiman.
It will hit the theatres on 19 May and casts Indrans and Lukman Avran in prominent roles.
The trailer hints that the story is about a music band, Jackson Bazaar Youth, and its members. The trailer gets a different tone after Indrans is introduced.
Jackson Bazaar Youth is produced by director Zakariya. The music is composed by Govind Vasantha.
