The YouTuber video wasn’t a Fools’ Day joke: Tanisha Kuppanda

Soon after a short video clip of an interview of actress Tanisha Kuppanda, who shot to fame with the popular Kannada teleserial “Mangalagowri Maduve” went viral on 1 April, many wondered whether it was a prank!

Well, the Pentagon film team soon came back clarifying that it was no prank but a serious issue.

In a tete-a-tete with South First, Tanisha shared the ordeal she faced during an interview with a YouTuber.

Absurd question

Recalling the YouTuber incident, the actress revealed that she had no idea about the person who claimed himself a popular YouTuber at the press meeting called by the Pentagon team.

“Eventually, we learned that he was never invited and was a mindless character. During the interview, he asked me if I’d be open to acting in blue films since I have played bold characters!”

She said she was in for a rude shock on being asked that absurd and unethical question in the press meet.

“Just because an actress plays a bold character in a film as required by the script, she cannot be asked such questions. I was hurt. Some even commented on social media that it was a gimmick and cheap publicity. No, it was not. None can be asked such a question,” Tanisha Kuppanda asserted.

Bad comments

That’s not all, the actor revealed that post the horrific incident, a friend of hers replied to her social media status taunting her with a nonsensical message.

“People do not realise that their small actions can badly hurt a person. I usually ignore comments on social media but when it is made by someone we know or close to us, it is difficult to express such uneasy feelings,” Tanisha said.

Pros and cons of dating apps

In Pentagon, an anthology of five stories directed by five different directors, Tanisha Kuppanda plays the character of a bold woman in the segment directed by Raghu Shivamogga.

“My character revolves around the pros and cons of using a dating application. Dating apps are common in the digital age. Some do face bad experiences and only a few are likely to end up with the right person as a partner for life or as a friend,” she added.

The film focuses on these issues and has an underlying message to it.

While her Pentagon is releasing this Friday, Unde Namma starring Komal Kumar is hitting the theatres next week.

“I also have actor-director-producer Dinakar Thoogupdeepa sir’s Royal, starring Virat and Sanjana, and Sher (Lion) releasing in the coming months,” Tanisha signed off.
