Thalapathy 50: B'day shots video from 'GOAT' breaks internet. (X)
Thalapathy Vijay has turned 50 on Saturday, 22 June.
While announcing his entry into politics in February this year, the Tamil star hero disappointed his fans by declaring his retirement from movies.
“I have decided to complete the film (GOAT) I have already committed to, without affecting the party work and completely involve myself in the politics of public service,” he said while announcing the name of his political party—Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam.
For now, Vijay will be seen in director Venkat Prabhu’s sci-fi action entertainer The Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
Meanwhile, marking Thalapathy’s 50th birthday, the makers of GOAT released a Bday Shot video.
The promo video is trending No. 2 on YouTube by grabbing over 26 lakh views in the past 12 hours. It also became a hot topic of discussion on social media platforms.
The 50-second BDay Shots video from GOAT showcased a thrilling bike chase sequence and stunts involving some goons. In the end, the video reveals Vijay, in a dual role (as father and son), retaliating against the goons by opening fire at them.

The makers used de-ageing technology to create the younger version of Vijay.
The Bday Shots video of GOAT boasted some slow-motion shots while introducing the Thalapathys (father-son) and a peppy background score composed by music sensation Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Interestingly, the last part of the promo video has a series of fast cuts, increasing anticipation among fans and film lovers for the Vijay-starrer.
The breathtaking visuals, shot by Siddhartha Nuni, of the chase further raised the expectations for GOAT.
Meanwhile, the makers also launched the promo of the second single from GOAT. However, the full song will be released this evening.

As per reports, in this Venkat Prabhu film, Vijay plays the role of a scientist, who gets targeted by a gang of notorious criminals.
Meenakshi Chaudhary is the female lead.
In April, on Tamil New Year’s Day, the makers released “Whistle Podu” song, which broke the internet. Vijay lent his voice to the song.
The peppy number was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The lyrics were written by Madhan Karky.
The 4-minute-47-second song also had vocals by Venkat Prabhu, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Premgi Amaren.
The “Whistle Podu” song featured Vijay dancing with Prabhudheva, Prashanth, and Ajmal Ameer.
Raju Sundaram, the brother of Prabhudheva, choreographed the dance moves for the track.
GOAT is produced by AGS Entertainment, which earlier bankrolled Vijay’s Bigil (2019).
It also features Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu in key roles.
The editing is handled by Venkat Raajen.
The stunts are overseen by Dhilip Subbarayan.
