Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Kingdom, which was set to release on 30 May, has now been delayed.
The film will now hit the screens about a month later, on 4 July. Sharing the news, the makers said they are delaying the release owing to the rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
In the note, they wrote: “To our dear audience, we wish to inform that the release of our film Kingdom, originally set for 30 May, has been rescheduled to 4 July. We explored every possibility to stick to the original date, but recent unforeseen events in the country and the current atmosphere have made it difficult for us to move forward with promotions or celebrations.”
“We believe this decision will help us present Kingdom in the best possible way, with the creative excellence and spirit it deserves, we truly value your support and hope to receive your love when we meet you at the cinemas on 4 July. We’re grateful to Dil Raju garu and Nithin garu for their understanding and support in making this change possible.”

While the action entertainer is titled Kingdom in Tamil and Telugu, it is titled Samarajya in Hindi.
The first look of Kingdom featured Vijay Deverakonda screaming his lungs out while looking at the sky on a rainy night. The actor sports short hair and a beard.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film is a larger-than-life action thriller. Filmmaker Trivikram’s wife Sai Soujanya is co-producing it. The film also stars Bhagyashri Borse in the lead role.
Music sensation Anirudh Ravichander is composing the songs and background score for Kingdom. It will feature cinematography by renowned cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, marking his Telugu debut. Navin Nooli, who won a National Film Award for Best Editing for Gowtam’s Jersey, will serve as the editor.
Vijay Deverakonda is struggling to score a hit, with his last film Family Star (2024) being a massive flop. Despite this, the Arjun Reddy (2017) actor continues to sign films. He has three projects lined up, including a period drama directed by Rahul Sankrityan, who previously directed him in the hit Taxiwaala (2018).
