Marco to release in Telugu

The Malayalam film starring Unni Mukundan, is set to release in Telugu on New Year’s Day, 1 January, 2025.

The film which received an A certificate from the censor board, is touted to be the most violent film in Malayalam. According to reports, Marco has collected over ₹50 crore worldwide and ₹27 crore in India, and is running successfully.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, the makers wrote: “M🅰️RCO – Telugu Release from January 1, 2025.”

Marco, a spin-off of Mikhael (2019), both directed by Haneef Adeni, once again features Unni Mukundan as an antagonist, as he did alongside Nivin Pauly in the original film.

Interestingly, this film portrays George and Marco as heroic characters, whereas they are negative characters in Mikhael. The makers have not referenced Mikhael and have treated Marco as a standalone story. Although Marco follows a predictable revenge storyline, its unique presentation sets it apart from other revenge films.

Marco, as promised by the makers, is a treat for those who enjoy violence in their films. With violence at its peak and gory scenes, this movie is not for children and light-hearted people, as it has rightly obtained an “A” certificate.

The ensemble cast of Marco includes Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, Arjun Nandakumar, Durva Thaker, Yukti Tareja, Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan, Ishan Shoukath, Siddique, Jagadish and Riyaz Khan, among others.

Chandru Selvaraj handles the cinematography for Marco, with Shameer Muhammed as the editor. KGF-fame Ravi Basrur composes the music.

Marco is produced by Shareef Muhammed and Abdul Gadhaf of Cubes Entertainments, in collaboration with Unni Mukundan Films, the lead actor’s home production company.

Marco is the most violent movie ever made in Malayalam. Unni Mukundan’s swag and stylish filmmaking are the takeaways of the movie with a predictable story,” our review read.
