Telugu star hero promises work for complainant in Jani Master case

Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce Chairperson Jhansi on Tuesday, 17 September, announced that TFCC member and producer Vivek Kuchibhotla and a Telugu star hero already promised work to the complainant in the choreographer Jani Master case.

On Sunday, 15 September, a 21-year-old female choreographer filed a complaint against Shaik Jani Basha aka Jani Master for sexually, physically, and mentally assaulting her since 2019.

Reiterating that victims of sexual harassment and abuse should be able to continue working, Jhansi noted, “She should be able to work peacefully. She should be able to do great work. There should not be a notion that due to this case, her life and career will be spoiled. She should not be afraid that if she comes forward to complain, she might earn a bad name or lose opportunities.”

Underscoring the collective support being offered to the complainant in the Jani Master case from the film industry, Jhansi said, “Many might not show support openly, but there is support from Voice for Cinema, producers such as Vivek Kuchibotla, and a top Telugu hero.”

She further clarified, “While work assurance should be given for survivor, she is receiving work assurance not because she is a victim but because she is talented. ”

Jhansi added: “A renowned director is already working with her. Apart from that, a top Telugu hero also has promised her work.” She reiterated that the industry will support talent.

Reports hint at Allu Arjun

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggest that the top Telugu hero is none other than Allu Arjun. The actor previously worked with Jani Master on the song “Butta Bomma” from the film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2019).

Previously, at the Baby (2024) success meet, Allu Arjun encouraged women to come and work in the Telugu film industry and also assured to provide a safe work environment. As a result, speculations are rife that the Tollywood star hero who promised work to the female choreographer could be Allu Arjun. However, there is no official confirmation yet.

Meanwhile, Jani has been suspended from both Dancers’ Union and TFCC amid the ongoing investigation.

Following the female choreographer’s complaint, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce held a meeting on 17 September and noted that they formed a committee to enquire into the incident.

Jani won the Best Choreography Award for the song Megham Karukkatha from the 2022 film Thiruchitrambalam at the 70th National Film Awards.
