A video of actor NT Ramaswamy being attacked and slapped by a woman has now gone viral on social media.
The incident occurred in Hyderabad at the screening of the recently released Telugu movie Love Reddy, in which the actor plays the role of a villain.
In the now-viral video, the film team including the lead actor, can be seen asking the audience if they liked the movie, and suddenly a woman from the audience came to the front and attacked NT Ramaswamy.
She can be heard using expletives and trying to slap NT Ramaswamy for “separating the leads” in the film. She further questioned, “How can you kill your daughter.”
The woman was referring to the purported climax scene that is also seen in the video clip, where NT Ramaswamy hits his daughter in the film with a rock.
The audience tried to calm the woman down, by stating that it was just a movie, and he was acting. The actor was then taken away by the film team. Anjan Ramachandra and Shravani Krishnaveni, who played the lead couple in Love Reddy, were also present.
While many expressed shock at the incident, many others also doubted if the whole thing was staged, a publicity stunt.
However, there hasn’t been any official response from the actor or the movie team.
