Harom Hara to premiere on Aha on 11 July

Actor Sudheer Babu’s latest outing, Harom Hara, is all set to make its OTT debut on Aha on 11 July.

The Aha OTT platform shared the update on social media along with the caption: “The stronger men might need a weapon. But the weapon is the strength of the weaker men. #HaromHara premieres July 11th only on aha!”

A mass action drama, Harom Hara is set against the backdrop of Kuppam and was directed by Gnana Sagar Dwarka. It opened to mixed reviews on 14 June.

The film starred Malavika Sharma as the female lead and Sunil, Jayaprakash, Ravi Kale, Arjun Gowda, and Lucky Laxman in prominent roles. It was produced by Sumanth G Naidu.

In Harom Hara, Sudheer Babu plays Subrahmanyam, a small-time mechanical lab assistant at a polytechnic college, who loses his job after a scuffle with a local goon’s men. Thanks to his father’s mounting debts, the youth chases easy money and is supported by a local suspended cop named Palani (Sunil).

Malvika Sharma plays Subrahmanyam’s love interest and a feisty schoolteacher who sees no wrong in her man’s path to survival.

In the Telugu film, Sudheer Babu handles intense sequences and fights with infectious composure and poise. The unimaginative and predictable screenplay plays a spoilsport though.

Nevertheless, Aravind Viswanathan’s excellent cinematography and Chaitan Bharadwaj’s fabulous, zesty music score salvage the film to a certain level.

“In all, Harom Hara has an enjoyable first half but suffers from the second-half syndrome. The main disappointment, however, is its inability to fulfil its true potential,” read South First review.

In an interview with South First, Sudheer Babu defined Harom Hara as a box office-friendly film. “The film doesn’t take on the gun culture, but there are phases in his (Subrahmanyam’s) journey where he faces a moral dilemma and thinks twice about his path. Harom Hara is a commercial entertainer at the end of the day, though it isn’t without its thought-provoking moments.”

He stated that the movie has potential for a sequel and the team already has some plots in mind but there’s no formal announcement yet. “The demand has to come from the audience and based on the response, we’ll decide the scale. We wanted to wait for the film to hit screens and as of now, it’s only a Telugu release.”
