SS Rajamouli’s two-part ‘Baahubali’ to re-release as combined film on 31 October

The makers made the announcement, as Thursday, 10 July, marked the ten year anniversary of 'Baahubali: The Beginning' release in 2015.

Baahubali The Epic to re-release

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, the two part franchise Baahubali, is set to re-release on 31 October, as a combined film with a rumoured runtime of 5 hours and 27 minutes.

The makers made the announcement, as Thursday, 10 July, marked the ten year anniversary of Baahubali: The Beginning‘s release in 2015.

Sharing the news, the director wrote: “Baahubali… The beginning of many journeys. Countless memories. Endless inspiration. It’s been 10 years. Marking this special milestone with #BaahubaliTheEpic, a two-part combined film. In theatres worldwide on October 31, 2025.”

The mythological action film, directed by SS Rajamouli, was co-produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media Works. The film was written by V Vijayendra Prasad. It music composed by MM Keeravani. It starred Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar.

Baahubali

In the film, Prabhas plays a dual role, Mahendra Baahubali and Amarendra Baahubali, as father and son, who fights for his kingdom, and justice.

In Baahubali: The Beginning, a young man named Shivudu discovers he is Mahendra Baahubali, heir to the throne of Mahishmati. He learns his father, Amarendra Baahubali, was a noble prince betrayed and killed by his uncle Bhallaladeva.

Meanwhile, in Baahubali: The Conclusion, Amarendra’s past is revealed—his love for Devasena, betrayal by the royal court, and death by loyal guard Kattappa under orders. Mahendra rises to avenge his father, defeats Bhallaladeva, and restores justice to the kingdom.

The Baahubali saga is known for its grandeur, visual effects, powerful storytelling, and themes of loyalty, betrayal, and legacy.

According to a Cinema Express report, the first part grossed nearly ₹600 crore at the box office, the sequel broke all box office records, garnering approximately ₹1,800 crore globally.

Baahubali: The Beginning was also the first Telugu film to win the National Award for Best Feature Film. The film was additionally the recipient for Best Special Effects. Meanwhile, Baahubali: The Conclusion, won three National awards two years later — Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Best Special Effects, and Best Stunt Choreographer.
