SS Rajamouli, SS Karthikeya make cameo in Hideo Kojima’s video game. (X)
Ace director SS Rajamouli and his son producer SS Karthikeya have made a surprise appearance in the upcoming video game developed by renowned Japanese creator Hideo Kojima Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
While the game is set to release on PlayStation 5 on Thursday, 26 June, players with early access spotted Rajamouli and Karthikeya in cameo roles.

According to The Hindu report, Rajamouli is featured as “The Adventurer,” while Karthikeya appears as “The Adventurer’s Son.”
Hideo Kojima is celebrated for his genre-defining work on titles like Metal Gear, Snatcher, and Zone of the Enders. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach seems to continue that tradition, serving as a sequel to the 2019 hit Death Stranding.
The report further added that, “The game follows Sam Porter Bridges in a post-apocalyptic Australia, where he and his team must reconnect isolated communities through a communication network in an effort to save humanity.”
Rajamouli and Kojima’s collaboration has been in the works since their first meeting in 2022, during the former’s visit to Japan to promote RRR. During the trip, he toured Kojima Productions and explored its cutting-edge 360-degree production setup.
Sharing a few clips of the meet then, the designer wrote in 2025: “Director S.S. Rajamouli visited KJP!!! We have scanned him. RRR.”

Later in April, Kojima shared a photo of him on a video call with the director-producer duo.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli is busy working on his next big project SSMB29. The film stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran is also set to play a key role in the film.
It is set to have PS Vinod as its cinematographer. This comes as a surprise as Rajamouli has not opted for his trusted cameraman KK Senthil Kumar this time.
