Satyabhama, starring Kajal Aggarwal in the lead role, is streaming. Despite robust promotional efforts by the makers, the film did not connect with audiences and did not perform well at the box office. Amazon Prime secured the OTT rights for the actor’s 60th film, at a substantial price. Satyabhama quietly began streaming on Prime Video without prior notice, catching many unaware of its availability.

Satyabhama served as Kajal’s return to Telugu cinema, although she did not explicitly acknowledge it. She had hoped the film would help reestablish her position. Directed by Suman Chikkala, the movie featured Kajal in the role of a senior police officer.

The movie unfolds in Hyderabad, focusing on ACP Satyabhama (Kajal Aggarwal), a committed police officer investigating the homicide of a child. As she delves deeper into the case, she uncovers concealed links and undisclosed secrets that test her determination. The narrative blends personal challenges with a criminal investigation, portraying a tenacious woman’s quest for justice.

After returning from maternity leave and facing the camera again, Kajal Aggarwal wrestled with the guilt of being a new mother and spending time away from her son. Despite this, she acknowledged that she missed acting. As time became more limited, she started to consider her career choices more thoughtfully.

Also starring Prakash Raj and Naveen Chandra, Satyabhama, was released alongside Navdeep’s Love Mouli and Sharwanand’s Manamey on 7 June.

The screenplay for Satyabhama was penned by Sashi Kiran Tikka, with the story credited to Ramesh Yadma and Prashanth Reddy Motadoo. Vishnu Besi served as the cinematographer for this action-drama, while Kodati Pavan Kalyan handled the editing duties. The film was produced by Bobby Tikka and Srinivas Rao Takkalapelly under the Auram Arts banner.

Satyabhama had a predictable screenplay

Playing a police officer had long been a dream for Kajal Aggarwal. In an interview, she expressed gratitude for the steadfast loyalty, support, and encouragement she has received throughout her 17-year career, feeling fortunate for the experience.

Despite achieving decent occupancy and receiving moderate reviews, Satyabhama struggled due to negative word of mouth and predictable screenplay. Sricharan Pakala handled the music, with Harshvardhan playing a significant role.

Kajal Aggarwal’s future projects include Kamal Haasan-Shankar’s Indian 3 and a potential lead role in a Hotstar web series, which is yet to be finalised.
