Tollywood sees a plethora of releases every Sankranti. This year too, three big films were released during the festival season.
However, among the three, Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunnam emerged victorious reportedly collecting about ₹300 crore. Apart from Venkatesh, the film has Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudary in lead roles.
Almost a month after the release of the film, the cast and crew held their success meet. During the same, on Monday, 10 February, the lead actor Venkatesh speaking to the audience confirmed that the sequel of the superhit is on the cards, and will most probably be set for 2027 Sankranthi.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam was an entertaining story of an ex-encounter specialist stuck between his wife and also an ex-girlfriend cum cop while handling an important mission of bringing back a reputed businessman.
A strong aspect of Sankranthiki Vasthunam is undoubtedly the characterization of Venkatesh, coupled with his wonderful act. The senior actor isn’t new to the genre of humour.
The actor’s comic timing in movies like Malliswari (2004), F2 and F3 along with Nuvvu Naaku Nachav (2001) has brought the house down raising many chuckles. Still, director Anil Ravipudi brings out a different side to his comedy.
“To sum it up Sankranthiki Vasthunam is a perfect watch for those looking for light-hearted entertainment. Fans of Anil Ravipudi and Venkatesh will have a blast,” our review read.
Bheems Ceciroleo composed the music, Sameer Reddy was in charge of the cinematography, and AS Prakash led the production design.
Meanwhile, Anil Ravipudi is next teaming up with Chiranjeevi. Speaking of the project, Chiranjeevi recently said,“It’s going to be a laugh riot from start to finish. I’m attempting a full-fledged entertainer after so many years.”
