Actor Ram Charan’s next film with director Buchi Babu Sana, which was tentatively referred to as RC 16, now has a title.
On the occasion of Ram Charan’s birthday, the makers announced that the film is titled Peddi.
Sharing the title poster, the actor wrote on X: “A FIGHT FOR IDENTITY!! #RC16 is #Peddi.”

The poster released showed Ram Charan with unkempt hair, a thick beard, a nose ring, and a cigar. Another shows him holding a cricket bat in a rural stadium under floodlights, hinting that the film has a backdrop of the sport.
It features Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor as the leading lady, marking it her second film in Telugu. She was last seen in Jr NTR’s Devara Part 1.
Touted to be a pan-India entertainer, Peddi caught the attention of film lovers because of its ensemble cast, brilliant technicians, and high budget. According to reports, the film is being shot with a budget of around ₹300 crore.
Two-time Oscar Award-winning composer AR Rahman is scoring the music for this Ram Charan-starrer. R Rathnavelu is the cinematographer and Avinash Kolla is the production designer.
Peddi is backed by Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and Vriddhi Cinemas, with Venkata Satish Kilaru as the producer.
Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar, too, joined the team. Recently, the makers announced that actor Jagapathi Babu will also join the cast. According to a press release from the makers, Peddi will cast many celebrated actors from across languages, apart from Shiva Rajkumar, in key roles. More details about the other cast and crew will be revealed soon.
Ram Charan’s last film, Game Changer, directed by Shankar, failed at the box office.
