Actor Priyanka Chopra is currently in Odisha. The global actor is set to be back in Indian cinema with the ace director SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s film SSMB29.
While there has been no official confirmation, the social media stories of the actor suggest that she has joined the sets of the untitled magnum opus.
On Tuesday, 12 March, Priyanka Chopra had been sharing snapshots of the location on her Instagram stories.
According to a TimesNow report, SS Rajamouli is set to shoot pivotal scenes in Deomali, the highest peak in Odisha. The majestic mountains and lush forests of the Eastern Ghats, which resemble African landscapes, provide the perfect setting for his grand narrative, said to be set in Africa. Located in a tribal region, Deomali is home to various indigenous communities, lending an authentic touch to the film’s backdrop.
Meanwhile, Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is reportedly playing the antagonist, has also joined the sets. Earlier, Prithviraj’s mother, Mallika Sukumaran, ended the suspense, by stating that the actor is on board SSMB29.
The actor recently shared a photo of himself, with the caption: “Finish and hand over film and all marketing assets on your directorial. Get into appearance for your next as an actor. Realise you have long monologues in a language not native to you and start becoming nervous.”
His reference to working in a language not native to him has reignited the speculations, and soon his post was flooded with comments that Prithviraj Sukumaran was referring to SSMB29.
Responding to a user stating that “It was AI and no one should believe it”, Mallika Sukumaran wrote in Malayalam: “No. The next is a Rajamouli film. Has Sincy also started debates without any information? You could have asked me.”
It is set to have PS Vinod as its cinematographer. This comes as a surprise as Rajamouli has not opted for his trusted cameraman KK Senthil Kumar this time.
