Actor Vijay Deverakonda recently in a playful remark, demanded a mashup between the British band Coldplay, and the revolutionary singer-poet Gaddar’s “Podustunna Poddumeeda.”
The actor’s remarks are in response to Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin saying that he is from Telangana.
The band recently wrapped up their India tour in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on 26 January.
During the same, in an attempt to connect with the audience, Chris Martin said, “I would like to say thank you to the rest of the band. We’ve been brothers now for 29 years. And, it’s just the most amazing thing to be part of, and what most of you don’t know is that all four of us were born in India, so we’re already an Indian band.”
Pointing towards Guy Berryman, the bassist, Chris Martin said, “He looks like he is from Scotland, but he is not. He is from Tamil Nadu. Everyone knows that I am from Telangana. And please welcome all the way from Ahmedabad, 100 per cent Gujarati, on the drums and everything else. In many ways, the leader of our band, the person that keeps us together, the lovely, incredibly bright, beautiful and scary, Will Champion.”
This moment caught the attention of many fans and audiences, with the video clip now viral.
Reacting to the video, the Telugu actor wrote on his Instagram stories, “Chris Martin (a heart emoji) welcome! Someone needs to make a Podusthunna Poddumeeda X Coldplay mashup.”
