Prashanth Neel with Jr NTR

Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s upcoming film is one of the most anticipated projects on the cards for both the actor and director.

While the film has been in production, it is now finally set to start shooting. On Wednesday, 9 April, the makers announced that the film would start shooting on 22 April.

Produced by Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Y, Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, and Hari Krishna Kosaraju under the Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts banners, the film, tentatively being referred to as NTRNeel, is expected to be a period drama.

Sharing the news, Mythri Movie Makers wrote: “#NTRNeel is entering its most explosive phase. Man of Masses NTR steps into the destructive soil from April 22nd.”

Bhuvan Gowda is handling cinematography, while Ravi Basrur will compose the music.

While previously, the film had set 9 January 2026 as its release date, it is now being reported that it will release in April 2026, in multiple languages— Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam..

Given the high expectations surrounding the project, Prashanth Neel is believed to present Jr NTR in a new light. Although the film’s title has not been officially announced, it is rumoured to be named Dragon.

Prashanth Neel is known for his work on K.G.F: Chapter 1, K.G.F: Chapter 2, and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.

While Prashanth Neel has Salaar Part 2 in the pipeline, Jr NTR has Devara Part 2 and War 2 in the pipeline.

Jr NTR’s last film, Devara Part 1, was also his solo film after six years. His last movie with Ram Charan, Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR (2022), gained global attention.

The two-part franchise, directed by Siva Koratala, is set against the backdrop of India’s forgotten coastal lands and features a significant amount of VFX.
