Nani’s Saripodhaa Sanivaaram enters Rs 100-crore club

Nani’s latest outing Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has achieved a significant milestone at the box office by raking in ₹100 crore on its 18th day (15 September).

This is Nani’s third film to enter the coveted ₹100-crore club in his 16-year acting career, following SS Rajamouli’s 2012 fantasy drama Eega and Srikanth Odela’s 2023 action drama Dasara.

Directed by Vivek Athreya, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram also stars Kollywood actors SJ Suryah and Priyanka Mohan in the main roles. DVV Danayya produced the Telugu film under his banner DVV Entertainment, while Jakes Bejoy composed the music.

On its 18th day, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram earned an estimated ₹1.25 crore in India, contributing to its entry into the ₹100-crore club.

Sharing the news on X, the makers thanked the audiences for standing with them like family and ensuring the film’s success.

“While the flashy concept of conserving one’s anger for a day in a week is its USP, the director oversells it beyond its expiry date. It has several paisa vasool moments. Many sequences work individually and verbally though they don’t aid the story’s progress. The film is tailored perfectly to complement Nani’s strengths,” read our review.

Despite its shortcomings, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has been lauded for its novel approach and intense performances.

Further updates on the film’s box-office performance are eagerly awaited as it continues its successful run.

Nani’s ₹100 crore hits

The fantasy action drama starred Nani, Samantha, and Kichcha Sudeep in pivotal roles. It won two National Film Awards for Best Feature Film in Telugu and Best Special Effects.

Nani’s second major hit, Dasara, marked another milestone in his career. The Telugu movie marked the debut of Srikanth Odela as a filmmaker in the industry. Sudhakar Cherukuri produced the film with a budget of ₹65 crore. It collected around ₹117 crore globally.
