Nagarjuna issues a statement after the demolition of his N-Convention

Telugu star hero Nagarjuna issued a statement on X on 25 August, a day after the N-Convention Centre (co-owned by him) in Madhapur was demolished by authorities for allegedly being built on encroached land on the Full Tank Level (FTL) of the Tammidikunta Lake.

In his social media statement, the actor clarified that the land for the N-Convention Centre is documented as Patta land and that formal arguments are being presented before the High Court.

“The Special Court of AP Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act has given a judgement passing an order Sr.3943/2011 on 24-02- 2014 saying no encroachment has happened in Tummidikunta Lake,” Nagarjuna wrote in the statement on his X handle.

The actor approached the Telangana High Court against the demolition and got an interim stay.

Previously, Nagarjuna claimed on X that no legal violations were committed and that the demolition was based on misinformation.

Authorities from Hyderabad’s Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), GHMC, Town Planning, Irrigation, and Revenue departments removed encroachments from the FTL/Buffer zones of the lake, including the N-Convention Centre. The officials stated that N-Convention lacked building permission and was constructed in unauthorised areas.

The demolition followed a 2014 preliminary notification and a 2016 final notification issued by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) regarding the Tammidikunta Lake’s FTL/Buffer zones. The High Court directed proper legal procedures for determining the FTL, and a survey report was shared with N-Convention management.

N-Convention, managed by N3 Enterprises and co-owned by Nagarjuna and Nalla Preetham, is accused of manipulating processes and maintaining unauthorised structures in the FTL and Buffer zones.

The HYDRAA reports that N-Convention encroached on one acre and 12 guntas in the FTL and two acres and 18 guntas in the Buffer zone. Building permission was never granted by GHMC, and attempts to regularize the structures under the Building Regularisation Scheme (BRS) were rejected.

Nagarjuna expressed frustration over the demolition, asserting that it was unlawful and contrary to existing court orders.

He stated that no notice was issued before the demolition and reiterated that the land is Patta land, with no encroachment. He emphasised his compliance with legal processes and his willingness to abide by court decisions if the matter were resolved against him.

On the acting front, he headlined this year’s release, Naa Saami Ranga. His upcoming projects include Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula and starring Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna.
