On Monday, 21 October, Sobhita took to Instagram to share the photos of their pre-wedding festivity, “Godhuma Raayi Pasupu danchatam.”
The festivity—which means crushing or grinding turmeric in a wheat stone—holds prominence in a Telugu wedding, as it marks the start of wedding-related festivities.
Sharing the photos of the event, Sobhita wrote: “Godhuma Raayi Pasupu danchatam. And so it begins!”. The event took place in Vishakapatnam, the hometown of Sobhita.
Actors Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya were officially engaged on 8 August. The engagement ceremony took place at Nagarjuna’s home in Hyderabad. Present at the event were Nagarjuna’s wife Amala Akkineni, their son Akhil, and Sobhita Dhulipala’s parents.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala have reportedly been dating for a few years but kept their relationship private. Last September, rumours of Naga Chaitanya’s “second marriage” circulated online, but sources close to him denied them. He divorced actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu in 2021.
In August, Nagarjuna, actor and father of Naga Chaitanya shared the news of his wedding to Shobita on his social media handles and shared a few photos.
In the pictures, the Love Sitara actor can be seen in an orange and green silk saree, which she revealed in the comments, is Naga Chaitanya’s mother Lakshmi Vijayaraghavan’s.
Sobhita can be seen crushing the turmeric in the wheat stone, along with her mother and sister. The turmeric will then be used for other future wedding events.

While Nagarjuna previously said the wedding won’t happen soon, reports were stating that there will be a destination wedding in December in Udaipur.
Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya on Sunday, 20 October, shared a mirror selfie of him with Sobhita on his Instagram, with the caption, “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” However, he turned off the comments for the post.
Naga Chaitanya is currently working on the Telugu film Thandel with Sai Pallavi, following his role in the Amazon Prime Video series Dhootha (2023).
Sobhita Dhulipala recently played a key role in Dev Patel’s directorial debut Monkey Man (2024), and was seen in the web series Love Sitara.
