Shooting of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s upcoming movie Thandel is progressing at a rapid pace.
An action drama directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel has Naga Chaitanya playing a fisherman from Srikakulam who gets arrested by Pakistani forces in international waters and is imprisoned.
The makers are now shooting for a dance number with the backdrop of Shivaratri. In a specially constructed set, the lead actors along with about 1,000 background dancers are shooting for the song. With the film being based on real-life incidents in Srikakulam, the makers incorporated an old Shiva temple called Sri Mukhalingam and the grand festival hosted there annually for Shivaratri in the film.
With the news of the dance number, Sai Pallavi’s fans’ anticipation has grown multifold. Sai Pallavi is known for her dance moves and has a slew of high-energy dance songs to her name like “Rowdy Baby” from Maari 2 (2018), and the Telugu song “Vachinde” from the 2017 movie Fidaa.
The makers released the pictures of the shoot on social media. The pictures show the duo in traditional attire, with the background dancers and a huge idol of Shiva.
Geeta Arts, the producers of the film sharing the photos on X, wrote: “A musical treat for the Shiva-Parvati. This splendid song from Thandel will be remembered for long. From the beats of Rockstar Devi Sir Prasad to the visual of stellar dance by Yuvasamrat Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, this song will be special for every reason. Get ready for a massive treat.”

While the film was expected to hit the screens for Dasara, it has been postponed due to the delay in production. It is being speculated that the film will either be released this year-end or early next year.
In March, the makers erected a huge set of a Pakistani Jail near BHEL in Hyderabad. They also wrapped a schedule in a scenic coastal village and the nearby seaport.
Chandoo Mondeti is known for his last film Kartikeya 2 (2022) which became a huge success. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music for the film.
Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya were last seen in Shekar Kammula’s Love Story (2022), in which both are dance trainers. The film spoke of caste discrimination and child sexual abuse.
