The explosive teaser for Ravi Teja’s highly anticipated Mr Bachchan is out; promising a memorable commercial theatrical experience, blending action, romance, emotion, and entertainment. The Telugu adaptation of Ajay Devgn’s Raid (2018) is directed by Harish Shankar and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad.
Mr Bachchan is set to release on 15 August, alongside Double iSmart, with a world premiere the night before. The action entertainer with the tagline “Naam Tho Suna Hoga”, also features Bhagyashri Borse and Subhalekha Sudhakar, in key roles.
Set against a period backdrop, Harish infuses Mr Bachchan with nostalgic charm. Ravi Teja exudes confidence and energy, making a strong impression, while Bhagyashri fits the role with ease.
The Mr Bachchan teaser opens with a nostalgic nod to TDK 120-minute cassettes, then shifts to a romantic sequence with Ravi Teja and Bhagyashri Borse.
The latter part highlights Ravi Teja’s character, an Income Tax officer, leading a raid against a powerful individual despite numerous challenges, alongside his team.
Jagapathi Babu plays the main villain, with the hero versus villain dynamic presented intriguingly. Ayananka Bose’s cinematography is top-notch, and Mickey J Meyer’s background score is immensely satisfying.
Mr Bachchan’s teaser lives up to the hype and creates strong buzz for the film.
Backed by People Media Factory, Panorama Studios, and T-Series, Mr Bachchan is Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar’s third collaboration, following Shock (2006) and Mirapakay (2011).
Netflix has acquired the OTT rights to the film for a substantial price.
Meanwhile, Ram Pothineni’s Double iSmart is a spiritual sequel to 2019’s iSmart Shankar. The teaser, released on the actor’s 36th birthday, shows Ustaad iSmart Shankar, now facing a more powerful foe played by Sanjay Dutt.
The film features Kavya Thapar as the female lead and includes Bani J, Ali, Getup Sreenu, Sayaji Shinde, Makrand Deshpande, and Temper Vamsi.
With music by Mani Sharma, cinematography by Sam K Naidu and Gianni Giannelli, and editing by Karthika Sreenivas R, Double iSmart is produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under Puri Connects. It will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
