Actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala have finally confirmed their relationship after months of speculation.
Naga Chaitanya’s father and veteran actor Nagarjuna announced their engagement on social media on Thursday, 8 August. He also shared the couple’s first photos from the ceremony and wished them a lifetime of happiness, calling it “a beginning of infinite love.”
The engagement ceremony took place at Nagarjuna’s home in Hyderabad. Present at the event were Nagarjuna’s wife Amala Akkineni, their son Akhil, and Sobhita Dhulipala’s parents.
Nagarjuna’s luxurious home in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills is well-known among Telugu movie fans.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala have reportedly been dating for a few years but kept their relationship private. Last September, rumours of Naga Chaitanya’s “second marriage” circulated online, but sources close to him denied them. He got divorced in 2021.
“He is still with Sobhita. They’re dating and won’t go public unless they decide to get married or engaged. They don’t mind being seen together, but it will remain private until an official ceremony,” an insider shared.
Meanwhile, warm wishes from celebrities and fans quickly followed.
Naga Chaitanya is currently working on the Telugu film Thandel with Sai Pallavi, following his role in the Amazon Prime Video series Dhootha (2023).
Sobhita Dhulipala recently played a key role in Dev Patel’s directorial debut Monkey Man (2024).

Rumours about their engagement were fuelled by reports from The Great Andhra, which stated that the ceremony would take place in Hyderabad, with Nagarjuna expected to share details about the wedding.
A throwback video of Nagarjuna praising Sobhita Dhulipala at the 2018 film Goodachari launch event also went viral. The video has been shared on Reddit.
“She was so good. I shouldn’t say it like this, but she was hot in the film. There’s something very attractive about her,” Nagarjuna was quoted, as saying.
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala first sparked dating rumours in 2022 when they were spotted at a London restaurant and were seen again in Europe in June.
