Director Harish Shankar, recently, revealed that he has a story, in the works for Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, and Ram Charan. In an interview with Great Andhra, he shared that this project has been in development for years.
Regarding his upcoming Ravi Teja-starrer Mr Bachchan, Harish Shankar emphasised that he doesn’t aim to create a massive film from the outset. Instead, he lets the film’s scope emerge naturally from its story, characters, and setting.
He further mentioned a potential love story set at the India-Pakistan border that could develop into an event film, once his current projects are complete.
Harish Shankar confirmed that he is developing a script for Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Pawan Kalyan, which he expects to become a significant pan-India film once completed. However, the project is still awaiting approval.
Mr Bachchan marks the third collaboration between Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar, following Shock (2006) and Mirapakay (2011).
The Telugu adaptation of Ajay Devgn’s Raid (2018), Mr Bachchan, is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and set to release on 15 August.
It will premiere the night before, alongside Ram Pothineni’s Double iSmart.
In the meantime, Harish is working on Ustaad Bhagat Singh with Pawan Kalyan, which is set to be a significant addition to the actor’s filmography.
A portion of the film has been completed, with the rest to be finished once Pawan Kalyan’s schedule permits.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh, a remake of the Tamil film Theri, also stars Sreeleela, Ashutosh Rana, Nawab Shah, BS Avinash, Gautami, and Chammak Chandra. Initially announced as Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh in 2021, filming began in 2023 after a pooja ceremony in 2022.
Theri stars Vijay in the lead role, with Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson, Nainika, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Rajendran, and Mahendran also featuring in the cast.
With music by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by George C Williams, and editing by Ruben, the story of Theri follows a former cop on a mission to shield his daughter from past enemies.
Reflecting on his journey, Harish Shankar, in an interview, noted, “Directors need space and time to grow. I focus on improving myself as a director and writer by comparing my films to my previous work, not to others’. Each film teaches me something, and understanding the audience makes me wiser.”
