The international organisation FIFA, on Wednesday, 5 February, posted a graphic to wish the star footballers Neymar Jr, Carlos Tevez, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who share their birthday.
However, the post caught the attention due to its reference to the RRR star Jr NTR.
The post featured animated versions of the three players dancing to the Academy Award-winning song “Naatu Naatu” from Jr NTR’s film RRR. And the image had the caption “NTR” an acronym for (Neymar-Tevez-Ronaldo). The caption for the post read, “Mood when it’s your birthday”.
Adding to the fans’ excitement, Jr NTR acknowledged the post by commenting, “Haha… Happy birthday Neymar… Tevez… Ronaldo…”
On the work front, the actor is currently shooting for his Bollywood film War 2. Jr NTR, who was last seen in Devara Part 1, has Devara Part 2, and Prashanth Neel’s film in the pipeline.
However, this is not the first time a reference to South Indian actors was made by the football world.
In February 2024, English Premier League football club Manchester City uploaded a video featuring the team’s goal machine Erling Haaland, with a hat tip to the Superstar Rajnikanth.
The Instagram reel, featuring Haaland’s best goals in the league, was a tribute to Rajinikanth. It began with the famous title card that Tamil movie fans know well, but Haaland’s name replaced Rajinikanth’s. The video used the song “Hukum” from Rajinikanth’s 2023 movie Jailer, which became a huge hit across the country.
