Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films to distribute Kiran Abbavaram's KA in Malayalam

Anticipation is growing for Kiran Abbavaram’s upcoming Telugu film KA, which marks his first release since his recent marriage and debut in the pan-Indian cinema arena.

In an exciting development, Wayfarer Films—Dulquer Salmaan’s production house—has grabbed the Malayalam distribution rights for the Kiran Abbavaram-starrer. This announcement has further heightened the expectations for the movie.

While the distribution rights for other languages are yet to be revealed, more leading banners are expected to come on board for Kiran Abbavaram’s KA in the wake of Dulquer Salamaan’s interest in the project.

Directed by Sujith and Sandeep, KA is generating significant buzz, particularly following the release of an intriguing teaser. It is a period mystery thriller, with Kiran Abbavaram playing a mysterious lead role. Thanvi Ram and Nayan Sarika are playing the female leads in the flick.

Presented by Chinta Varalakshmi and produced under the banner of Srichakraas Entertainments, the film is currently in production. The makers will announce the release date soon.

Sam CS is composing the music, adding to the film’s high production values.

The teaser, released on Kiran Abbavaram’s birthday (15 July), doubled the anticipation among fans. It opens with a mysterious device bearing zodiac symbols, setting a cryptic tone. Kiran Abbavaram’s character, portrayed as an enigmatic figure, is questioned about his origins, solitary lifestyle, and dark past that hints at murder.

The teaser, with its suspenseful visuals and unanswered questions, drew significant interest from cinephiles and industry insiders alike.

Producer Vamsi Nandipati acquired the Telugu rights for KA for ₹12 crore, further boosting the film’s prospects. With theatrical and non-theatrical rights for other languages expected to fetch an additional ₹18 crore, the total pre-release business has reached ₹30 crore already.

KA is set for a grand theatrical release in multiple languages—Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. This period-action thriller promises to be a major milestone in the actor’s career as he returns to the big screen after a one-year hiatus. He was last seen in Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha and Meter, released in 2023.

Meanwhile, Kiran Abbavaram recently married Rahasya Gorak, his co-actor in Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru (2019).
