Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Kaantha’ to release on 12 September

It is a joint production by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media and Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films.

On the occasion of Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming Telugu-Tamil film  Kaantha released the teaser of the film, and also announced it’s release date. The film will hit the big screens on 12 September.

Set in 1950s Madras during the post-independence era, Kaantha is directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. The film stars Dulquer Salmaan in the lead, with key roles played by Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani.

It is a joint production by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media and Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films.

Sharing the teaser, Rana wrote on X: “Celebrate the golden age of silver screens with us. Watch the first teaser of @kaanthafilm, out now in Tamil and Telugu on YouTube.”

The teaser opens with a film crew setting up to shoot a horror movie. The teaser then showcases the tension between Dulquer Salmaan and Samuthirakani, stemming from unresolved past.

Meanwhile, the teaser of Aakasam Lo Oka Tara, the first collaboration between Dulquer Salmaan and director Pavan Sadineni, produced by Swapna Cinema and Geetha Arts, has also been released.

The film will also be released in Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi.

Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in the hit Lucky Baskhar. Directed by Venky Atluri and starring Dulquer Salmaan, the movie was received well with its engaging storyline and impressive cast. Meenakshi Chaudhary stars alongside Dulquer Salmaan, with music by GV Prakash Kumar.

Lucky Baskhar is a well-made heist drama that has all the elements to be a complete entertainer. Dulquer Salmaan’s performance is a major highlight of the movie,” the review read.
