Amitabh Bachchan, who portrayed Ashwatthama in the epic sci-fi flick Kalki 2898 AD, has jokingly said ₹1000 crore films are routine for Prabhas. Reflecting on the film’s success, Bachchan discussed the Nag Ashwin directorial joining the elite ₹1000 crore club and its significance to him.

In a video released by Vyjayanthi Movies, Amitabh Bachchan praised Nag Ashwin and the cast and crew of Kalki 2898 AD and expressed his deep gratitude to everyone for supporting the mammoth project celebrating its ₹1000 crore success.

He commended producers Ashwini Dutt, Priyanka, and Swapna for their unwavering belief in the project. He thanked Nag Ashwin for his visionary direction and also expressed gratitude for the honour of working with industry legends Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and the entire cast of Kalki 2898 AD.

Big B also congratulated Santhosh Narayanan for his background score and music. He praised George and his assistants for their camera work. Further, he acknowledged the years of dedicated effort that led to the success of Kalki 2898 AD.

“For Prabhas, this may be something of a routine because a lot of his films crossed this ₹1000 crore figure. But for me, I am truly indebted and grateful to have been made a part of this huge phenomenon called Kalki,” Bachchan said, adding that he is at a loss for words to express how much he enjoyed the film.

Amitabh Bachchan saw Kalki 2898 AD four times, inviting guests to join him at the theatre to experience it perfectly.

“Each viewing revealed something new that I missed the first time. This film has been more than just another acting job for me. It’s been a profound education in our culture and Indian mythology. Nagi has beautifully woven these elements into a credible story, earning the support and love of the audience.”

The veteran Bollywood actor concluded by hoping to participate in the film’s next instalment, besides wishing for its continued success in the future.

About Kalki 2898 AD

Reportedly India’s most expensive film with a budget of ₹600 crore, Kalki 2898 AD premiered worldwide on 27 June. Formerly known as Project K, the movie blends elements from the Hindu epic Mahabharata with science fiction.

Kalki 2898 AD features numerous cameos aimed at engaging a pan-Indian audience, including brief yet impactful appearances by popular actors Vijay Devarakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.

Notably, SS Rajamouli and Ram Gopal Verma also make thrilling guest appearances, while veteran actor Shobana makes her Telugu cinema comeback after 18 years.

Serbian cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic has meticulously crafted the stunning visual landscapes and diverse worlds of Kalki 2989 AD.

The extensive visual effects in the film, comprising 700 VFX shots, were handled by two primary studios: Prime Focus DNEG and The Embassy Visual Effects.
