‘Devara Part 1’ collects Rs 172 crore on day one worldwide

'Devara Part 1' is the second-biggest opening of the year for an Indian movie after Prabhas' 'Kalki 2898 AD', which registered ₹95 crore on the first day of release in India.

Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Devara Part 1 hit the screens on Friday, 27 September, amid great expectations.

While the film got mixed reviews, it opened to great collections at the box office. According to the makers, Devara Part 1 collected ₹172 crore on day one worldwide.

Devara Part 1 is also Jr NTR’s solo film after six years. His last movie with Ram Charan, Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR (2022), gained global attention. The pan-India film was released in five languages Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.

According to Sacnilk.com, the film earned ₹82.5 crore in India on day one, with the Telugu version earning a maximum of ₹73.25 crore, followed by  ₹7.5 crore in Hindi. The film earned ₹0.35 crore in Kannada, ₹1 crore in Tamil and ₹0.4 crore in Malayalam.

With the weekend ahead, the film is expected to cross ₹200 crore.

Jr NTR expresses gratitude 

Meanwhile, the film has also been screened at the Beyond Fest in Los Angeles and received a standing ovation from the audience.

Jr NTR took to X, to share his happiness, thanking the audience for the response, he wrote: “The day I had been waiting for is finally here… Overwhelmed by your incredible reactions.”

He further thanked the crew of Devara Part 1. 

“Thank you Koratala Siva garu, for envisioning Devara with such engaging drama and emotional experience. My brother Anirudh, your music and background score brought this world to life. Special thanks to my producers, Harikrishna Kosaraju garu and Sudhakar Mikkilineni garu for being the strongest pillars. Huge gratitude to Rathnavelu sir, Sabu Cyril sir, Sreekar Prasad sir, and every technician for their amazing work.”

Finally, he thanked his fans for making him “elated”. “Forever indebted for your love. Glad you’re enjoying it as much as I did. I promise to keep entertaining you all,” he wrote.
