'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari' re-release. (X)
The 1990 hit film, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, is all set for a grand re-release in 2D and 3D on 9 May.
The film starring Chiranjeevi and Sridevi completes 35 years this year. Directed by Raghavendra Rao, and produced by Vaijayanthi films, the film is a fantasy drama.
Sharing the news, the production house wrote: “Some stories are just meant to be told. The magic of #JagadekaVeeruduAthilokaSundari is back…. Celebrate 35 years of unforgettable moments in theatres this May 9th, in 2D & 3D!”

The film revolves around Raju, played by Chiranjeevi, and Indraja, a celestial being, played by Sridevi. It was co written by Jandhyala and Yandamuri Veerendranath along with the director.
The film featured Amrish Puri, Kannada Prabhakar, Allu Ramalingaiah, and Rami Reddy in supporting roles, with music composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Produced on a budget of ₹2 crore, it grossed nearly ₹15 crore at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film for several years.
In addition to its commercial success, the film also received critical acclaim, winning five Nandi Awards that year.
On work front, Chiranjeevi is awaiting the release of his film Vishwambhara.
Chiranjeevi has also signed a film with two young directors. The first one is with Srikanth Odela. Unanimous Productions and SLV Cinemas are jointly producing it, and actor Nani is presenting the project.
The film is expected to be an action entertainer, with the director rising to fame for his debut action entertainer Dasara (2023).
Apart from this, he has another film in works with director Anil Ravipudi. The film will be jointly produced by Chiranjeevi’s daughter, Konidela Sushmitha, under Goldbox Entertainment, along with Shine Screens.
