Actor Chiranjeevi and director Anil Ravipudi’s much-anticipated collaboration went on the floor on Ugadi, 30 March.
The makers launched the film, tentatively titled Chiru 157, along with a puja. It was attended by Anil Ravipudi, Chiranjeevi, his daughter, Konidela Sushmitha, who is also producing the film, and Venkatesh Daggubati.
The film will be jointly produced by Chiranjeevi’s daughter, Konidela Sushmitha, under Goldbox Entertainment, along with Shine Screens.
Sharing the news, Chiranjeevi wrote on X: “On this joyous occasion of Ugadi, happy to begin my journey with the amazing director Anil Ravipudi, producers Sahu Garapati and Sushmitha Konidela, and the entire team of #ChiruAnil. A big thanks to my dear Venkatesh and all my friends from the industry for gracing the event! సంక్రాంతికి రఫ్ఫాడిద్దాం.”

Chiranjeevi also hinted that the film might be released for Sankranti. Speaking at an event last month, he said, “It’s going to be a laugh riot from start to finish. I’m attempting to be a full-fledged entertainer after so many years, and I’m eagerly looking forward to it, I’m always thinking of going onto the sets and how I will enact the scenes. Whenever Anil comes home to narrate the scenes, we both end up laughing out loud.”
Earlier, Anil Ravipudi announced that Chiranjeevi’s character is named Shankar Varaprasad.
He wrote on X: “Final script narration done & locked. I introduced the character “Shankar Varaprasad” in my story to Chiranjeevi garu.. He loved & enjoyed it thoroughly.”

Chiranjeevi has also signed a film with another young director, Srikanth Odela. Unanimous Productions and SLV Cinemas are jointly producing it, and actor Nani is presenting the project.
The film is expected to be an action entertainer, with the director rising to fame for his debut action entertainer Dasara (2023).
