“Kindly bring an extra T shirt,” said one “advisory” from a prominent multiplex in Hyderabad, in an attempt to underline that the actor turned politician, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s much anticipated film OG, is a hit.
The film which hit the screens on Thursday, 25 September, opened to mixed reviews, with many noting that the film was tailor made for Kalyan’s fans. With his last two films BRO, and Hari Hara Veera Mallu not performing well at the box office, all hopes were on this Sujeeth directorial.
According to Sacnilk, a box office tracking website, the film has collected, ₹25 crores across India on day 1.
Amidst the fanfare and promotional posts, this post from one of the prominent multiplexes in the city, Prasads on it’s X handle, had gained attention, with the production house reposting, and Kalyan’s fans sharing it widely.
The note read: “Over the years, cinema has sparked many forms of celebration; whistles, cheers, applause, even dances in the aisles. These are traditions we love and cherish. However, with They Call Him OG, the excitement has gone beyond the usual. It has been observed that audiences, in the heat of adrenaline, are screaming, jumping, and even ripping their T-shirts out of sheer madness. While we admire the passion, we also understand the casualties. Hence, we sincerely request you to kindly carry an extra T-shirt along with you when coming to watch the film.”
The note further added cheekily, “Please note: Prasads Multiplex will continue to guarantee you an unforgettable cinematic experience but we cannot be held responsible for the survival of your wardrobe.”

The post also comes amid complaints of ruckus created by Pawan Kalyan’s fans in theatres across the country, and also in USA.
A video of a theatre in USA filled with papers is now viral on social media with the caption “In a theatre in USA”.
While the actor’s fans have shared the video as a proof of his popularity, many in the comments have criticised the unruly behaviour.
One user wrote: “Soon Indians will be banned from first world countries 😀 next generation kids will face it👏🏼 our civic sense is damn indian even outside of India 👍 well done!”

While another suggested that the theatres in USA should stop screening Telugu movies.
The solution is rather simple – @AMCTheatres @RegalMovies theater chains should come together and decide not to premiere Telugu movies
This might be illegal cartel-like action but I am sure the government will take their side https://t.co/csxijR5z9G

Another Karnataka based handle complained that the fans and movie goers have blocked the road near Madiwala, causing inconvenience to the general public.
They wrote: “Every Telugu movie releases the same problem in Madiwala — road block, traffic violations, noise, and huge crowd gatherings. Stampede kind of situation The public can’t even pass through that road.”
