Arshad Warsi on Prabhas's role in Kalki 2898 AD: 'He came across as a joker'

Arshad Warsi didn’t hold back in a recent podcast interview with Samdish Bhatia, where he discussed his life, career, and the movies he’s watched lately. When asked about Kalki 2898 AD, Arshad Warsi was candid: “He didn’t like it at all”.

However, he did praise Amitabh Bachchan, one of the film’s leads, saying, “I watched Kalki (2898 AD), but I didn’t enjoy it. It pains me because Amit ji was unbelievable. I can’t comprehend how he does it. If we had even a fraction of his power, our lives would be set. He’s unreal.”

Arshad Warsi then offered a blunt critique of Kalki 2898 AD, particularly Prabhas’s role. “I’m disappointed. Why was Prabhas portrayed like a joker? I wanted to see a Mad Max, a Mel Gibson in that role. I just don’t get why they do this.”

Arshad Warsi was last seen in the web series Asur (2020) and Modern Love Mumbai (2022). He’ll next appear alongside Akshay Kumar in Jolly LLB 3.

A Reddit post revealed that Prabhas fans have flooded the comments on Arshad Warsi’s Instagram, with some calling him a “joker”.

Others pointed out that the box office earnings of Kalki 2898 AD—over  ₹1100 crore globally—surpass the combined total of all Arshad Warsi’s films.
