Anushka Shetty’s ‘Ghaati’ to hit the screens on 5 September

Anushka Shetty’s next big film— Ghaati  after many delays is finally going to hit the big screens on 5 September.

The action packed film is set to release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The film directed by Krish Jagarlamudi is an action thriller. While the film was scheduled for a summer release, it was postponed.

The makers released the trailer of the film on Thursday, 7 August, which showed Anushka in a powerful role, fighting against injustices.

Krish is a well-known director in the Telugu movie industry, making films like Gamyam (2008), Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum (2012), and NTR: Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu (2019).

According to the makers, Ghaati is a gripping tale of revenge, redemption, and retribution where a victim turned criminal rises to a status of legend. Anushka plays an authoritative character in this female-centric movie.

Ghaati is a joint production venture of UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

Vamsi and Rajiv Reddy are the producers, while Chintakindi Srinivas Rao, Krish Jagarlamudi and Burra Sai Madhav are the writers.

Amazon Prime Video acquired the rights to stream the film after its theatrical release.

The makers also shared a one-minute announcement video in which Anushka is in a new avatar, wielding a sickle. She gets onto a bus and kills a man.

Anushka will also seen in the Malayalam film Kathanar- The Wild Sorcerer. National Award-winning filmmaker Rojin Thomas is helming it.

Anushka Shetty was last seen in Miss Shetty and Mr Polishetty alongside Naveen Polishetty. The rom-com drama did well at the box office, with Anushka playing the role of a chef, and Naveen in the role of a stand-up comic.
