Akhil Akkineni's next titled Lenin

Actors Akhil Akkineni and Sreeleela are teaming up for a romantic drama titled Lenin. On Tuesday, 8 April, the makers revealed the title of the film along with a glimpse on the occasion of Akhil’s birthday.

Written and directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, who made his directorial debut with Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu KathaLenin is a joint production of Sithara Entertainments and Annapurna Studios.

This romantic action drama features music by S Thaman, cinematography by Naveen Kumar, and editing by Navin Nool. Avinash Kolla serves as the production designer. The film is currently in production.

Sharing the news, the production house wrote on X: “LENIN – A name that will rise above all. Wishing Akhil Akkineni a staggering birthday from Team #Lenin.”

The film is set in rural Rayalaseema, is expected to portray Akhil in a new avatar.

Actor Nagarjuna, also wishing Akhil, wrote on X: ” Happy birthday, Dear Akhil Akkineni. As you enter this year, praying that the Universe bless you with all its power and glory so that you may shine!!  Very happy to collaborate with you Vamsi. Thank you team Lenin for the superb glimpse!! Dear Akkineni fans, thank you for all the love.”

Akhil made his entry into film as a child in the film Sisindri (1995), and much later debuted as a lead in Akhil (2015). He later went on to star in Hello (2017) and Mr. Majnu (2019). He achieved his commercial breakthrough with the romantic comedy Most Eligible Bachelor (2021).

His last film, Agent, directed by Surender Reddy, released in 2023, was a spy thriller. However, the film didn’t perform well at the box office.

“Despite good efforts from Akhil Akkineni, one keeps wondering if this action thriller is directed by Surender Reddy,” our review read.
