Chiranjeevi recieving Lifetime Achievement Award

On Thursday, 19 March, actor Chiranjeevi received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the British government for his contributions to cinema and society, at the UK Parliament, in London.

The award ceremony at the House of Commons was attended by Members of Parliament Navendru Mishra, Sojan Joseph, and Bob Blackman.

Congratulating the actor on the honour, his brother, actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan took to X, to share a heartfelt message.

He wrote on X: “The Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented by the United Kingdom Parliament will further enhance the fame of Annayya Chiranjeevi garu.”

Recalling the senior actor’s humble beginning, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan noted, “Starting life as the son of an ordinary middle-class excise constable, with his own strength and the blessings of his artistic mother, he rose to become a megastar in the film industry, entertaining fans all over the world for four and a half decades, winning 9 Filmfare Awards and 3 Nandi Awards for Best Actor with his acting, and becoming synonymous with acting.”

“I will always be proud to be born as his younger brother. I consider Chiranjeevi garu more like a father than an elder brother. He is the person who showed me the way when I was confused and did not know what to do in life. My elder brother Chiranjeevi garu is the hero of my life.”

Contributions to society

Further speaking of Chiranjeevi’s contributions to society, Pawan Kalyan added, “By establishing the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust with his sense of service, he provided blood and eye donations to those in danger, and turned not only me but also crores of fans into social servants. He not only grew up but also helped many people along with his family, directly and indirectly, setting an example that anyone with talent can excel in any field.”

“He was recently awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award of the Government of India, by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, for his services to the society. I am very happy to hear that Megastar Chiranjeevi garu was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award on the 19th of this month. I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to him on this occasion and wish him to receive more awards in the future and be a guide for all of us.”

He added, “I would like to express my special thanks to Shri Navendu Mishra, MP for Stockport, who is hosting this award ceremony.”

On the work front, Chiranjeevi is gearing up for his next release Vishwambhara.
